We work with patients, research participants, carers, family members and the general public who access health services across a variety of organisations, including the NHS, non-profit organisations, regulators and independent oversight committees. We are looking for people who can help us as PPI contributors.
PPI contributors do not participate in clinical trials, although some may have taken part in studies before. In a PPI contributor group, you will get to actively work with researchers and clinicians to shape their research work by offering advice and suggestions. You may also act as members of a project group that will help with the study design and develop material that would be given to potential study participants.
PPI contributors very often have the ability to look at research being designed in a different light, using their personal experience. PPI contributors can also help researchers develop funding applications. This is hopefully a rewarding experience and a way to understand how better we can use public money to improve research and enhance clinical care provided by healthcare organisations.
